RIVERWINDS IN WEST DEPTFORD, NEW JERSEY
The Team Sarcoma 2007 Initiative is an internationally coordinated set of events to raise awareness of sarcoma and raise funds for sarcoma research. Last years international event was held in Denmark and had over 800 participants. It includes cycling, walking, running and swimming. We will run our local Team Sarcoma in conjunction with the international 2007 event being held this year in Vermont, USA. To date there are 42 teams and 14 different countries participating. This project was established by the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative in conjunction with Sojourn.
Our local event will include walking, running or cycling. This event will be held at RiverWinds in West Deptford Township on Sunday July 22, 2007. We will offer some fruit and water to get you started and afterwards. Please stay after for pictures if you can. You will be able to walk or run at your own pace and as long as you would like. The bike riders will need to start at 8:35 am, depending on your level. The bike portion will include a route available for both novice and advanced riders. Action Wheels of Deptford will be offering FREE bike safety checks for anyone interested or in need. The novice route will be approximately 30 miles round trip for novice/family bikers and for the advanced, 50 miles round trip. It will be a really fun event for family and friends to join in on as well as an important fund raiser as 20% of all cancer in children is sarcoma.
Our registration fee is $25.00 which includes a 2007 Team Sarcoma Initiative T-shirt. You have the option of being sponsored, in which case we will waive the registration fee providing you can get up to $200 in sponsorship! So get in shape and lets get going!!! Please bring your family and friends to join us in this very worthy cause. 20% of all cancer in children is sarcoma. There are too many young adults suffering from sarcoma. Lets be a part of finding some answers and providing the needed research for this devastating cancer. To print registration link below.
DIRECTIONS TO RIVERWINDS
295 South : Exit 21 proceeding to the traffic light at the bottom of the ramp. Make a right onto Rt.44 ( Crown Point Rd). Next light at WaWa make a left onto Delaware Street. Cross Grove Road onto RiverWinds Drive and continue 1.3 miles to the Community Center.
295 North: Exit 21 proceeding to the bottom of the ramp, bear left at the stop sign. Make a left onto Delaware Street proceeding to the traffic light across from the WaWa. Proceed straight through the light, then cross Grove Road onto RiverWinds Drive and continue 1.3 miles to the Community Center.
